Designed as a startup within the Research & Innovation division, L’Oréal’s Technology Incubator is dedicated to developing and launching groundbreaking new beauty technologies. Launched in 2012, the Technology Incubator has a presence in New York, New Jersey, California, France and Japan. Our team of 30+ includes physicists, engineers, UX specialists, hardware designers and data scientists working cross functionally to help L’Oréal evolve from the world’s foremost beauty company to a technology player that is empowering consumers through personalized products and experience.

LEADERSHIP
Guive Balooch, Head of the Technology Incubator
In 2008, Balooch joined L’Oréal’s Research & Innovation team where he was responsible for building collaborations with startups and universities. After drawing inspiration from the agile startup models that surrounded him, he entered a unique new role that would grant him exposure to the consumer and the business while remaining on the R&I team at the number one beauty company in the world. Currently, as the head of L’Oréal’s Technology Incubator, he continues to partner with entrepreneurs, academic institutions and experts across a diverse array of fields to unearth breakthrough research and first-to-market technologies.
A native of California, Balooch has a B.A. in Molecular and Cell Biology from the University of California, Berkeley and Ph.D. in Biomaterials from University of California, San Francisco.
